The Marionette and the Kite

I wish I knew the names of the inventors of these two string-held toys: the marionette and the kite.

Do you?

Or even know the real story behind their inventions.

I know neither.

Perhaps a quick search online would reveal the full story.

But I’m not actually interested, not right now.

Actually… I don’t like marionettes.

But I really enjoy watching kites drift across in the sky.

Sometimes I wonder why.

If both work with a string.

If both have someone behind the scenes guiding the string with accuracy, talent, and lots of practice.

And, if both exist for fun and entertainment.

Why?

But aren’t they are totally different?

The marionette is a puppet,

and a puppet is a puppet.

It is confined to the stage,

manipulated by a hidden person,

for the two can never appear on the same stage.

It talks, sings, and dances.

It tells stories, and people laugh.

And its manipulator is always after the prize — the profit.

But the kite is different.

It is freedom in the open air.

It is quiet, with just a little flipping and flapping.

And, it is wonderfully flexible, soaring high and flying with the wind.

Its manipulator is not hidden.

Actually… they can’t be manipulators.

They always in the open — brave, steady, and smiling.

Their prize is the sight of freedom, strength, and courage.

Now, if you have two invitations: one for a marionette show and the other for a flying–kite show, which one will you choose?

I would definitely choose the flying-kites show.

And that’s why I like kites and don’t like marionettes.

Browsing

Where would you go on a shopping spree?

The first thing that crossed my mind when i read “shopping” is to browse.

It’s fun to browse through things in a store or online, and it’s really beneficial since, in most cases,  you’ll end up buying nothing. To be browser can help in many ways;  first to satisfy your passion for shopping. second to economise, and third to brighten your mood. You can add more to these advantages if you like. However, sometimes, a browser turns into a buyer, a greedy one, and that’s when you fall into the trap of trying things especially for free or when you’re merely copying others.

I’m doing my best to work on this go only browsing strategy when I don’t really need to buy things.

With all the best wishes,

Nahla

‘The mother warned her child to be careful and not to open the door to strangers unless she (the mother) or her father was in the house.’

This was part of a funny story which I was telling my daughter yesterday. But she asked why?

Sometimes, thieves break into houses to steal things.

Then, she asked me not to put in any thieves in the stories. She was scared, and I immediately changed the whole plot, or we’d have been awake all night.

But today, I remembered a short video on Facebook which shows a different image of a thief. A kind image.

In this video, instead of stealing, the thief helped his victim to return safely to her home. Why? Because everyone has a good side. And next time in my story, I’ll make sure that my daughter understands this point.

Watch this video to know how the thief helped the young lady.

With my best wishes,

Nahla

Youtube channel

I no longer watch TV; all of my favourite programmes, movies, songs, even my daughter’s favourite cartoons are available on youtube.

It’s also fun to know about others and watch their experience, their success, and their business. I really believe they should be so brave to do that.

My son has started his youtube channel, I think it was about five years ago. Football, he thought it would be all about. But now he is sharing some new interests.

This is the link for his channel; check it and if you like, subscribe to his channel.
