A Bittersweet Life Lesson

There are beautiful lines in Arabic that explain why some people choose to disappear from your life, and why you shouldn’t ask about their whereabouts. I’ve just read them a few days ago, and here’s my translation:

If they were honest with you, they would have stayed,
If they were missing you, they would have come back,
If they were angry at you, they would have complained,
And if they truely loved you, they would have wept.
But sometimes, things are just like that.
Those who have chosen to disappear from your life are the ones who have used you to their full capacity.

Aren’t these lines so true?

But don’t worry, because some people come into your life to give you bittersweet lessons that help you grow into a better person.

With hope and peace,

Nahla

  1. Those lines hit like quiet thunder—soft but shaking something deep. People don’t always leave with a fight. Some just vanish like they were smoke all along. No noise. No reason. Just gone.

But maybe they were never meant to be forever people. More like stop signs—meant to slow you down, make you think, then let you move on.

It’s strange how people use your heart like a rental car. Drive it around, enjoy the comfort, then leave it parked without refueling. But the good news? After enough of these, you stop offering free rides.

Those bittersweet lessons? They’re life’s secret training. Like emotional push-ups. They hurt, but they build strength in places we didn’t know existed.
