Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.
My wedding shoes will always be my favourite. They have taken me to a new different world and, though with its all ups and downs, I am deeply thankful for living such an adventure!
And, I believe who had ever said that ” the right shoes can make everything different,” was so right.
By the way, mine were not that fancy and I have no idea where they ended up after my move to the UK.
Praise the Lord, I’ve been blessed with so many gifts and I believe we all have been blessed with so many. We just have to contemplate our life to admit that truth.
But, I’m going to pick three gifts I received by the three precious gifts of my life; my children.
The first was a poem on the mother’s day by my youngest, my daughter, when was about five years. How cute were her words and her handwriting, I’ll never forget that piece!
The second was two lovely budgies brought home by my middle son on no special occasion but just to make me happy and I’ ve come to adore them.
The third was on my birthday by my eldest son. It was The Quran Cube (check it online for more information). And it’ so previous as it works as a reminder of prayer times with the call of prayer (Adhan), and i think it’ s better than any applications on electronic devices.
One more thing to say is that they were all unexpected and that’s why they are the best by the best.
My strategy is; Don’t be skinflint, don’t be spendthrift, and I’m doing my best to stuck to it by following these steps;
Declutter before buying new things for most of the times we need to buy nothing.
Cook often, eat out sometimes.
Keep walking and moving.
There’ s the saying ” An apple a day keeps the doctor away.’ It doesn’t necessarily be an apple but any fruits in general will be much better than junks for the budget.
Any finally be thankful, be grateful and be modest.
Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?
What is your homeland? Your fatherland? Your motherland?
What is your mothertongue language? Your native language?
Do old memories and warm feelings of your country of birth pop into your head every now and then?
If one can frankly answer these questions, I believe this means s/he is patriotic even if one lives too far away, even if one likes the new place, and even if one plans to stay there, too far away.
Do we have to talk, to speak loud to communicate with others? What about prayers? What about drawings? What about eye contact? They all work well in communication, sometimes even better than speaking loud.
One day a friend told me a funny story. It happened that she was talking with her husband about a woman she didn’t like but have to see quite often. She talked her heart about all the things she didn’t like and why. Her son, about nine or eight years, was coming in and out while she was talking, and she oblivious of anything around, put in more and more. A week later, in a social gathering, she met with that woman and others, but to her surpise and shame, her son came to set next to that woman. After exchanging polite greetings, the son told the woman that her mother always talking about her. My friend’s heart almost stopped beating as she looked at her son. For a few seconds, they were looking at each other, silent. Her look was not threatenting, but begging her son. He smiled and said; ”Always good things.”
So, just a pause of silence saved the mother and taught her a valuable life lesson.
Look around either at work, school, university … Why, Just watch the news to see who’s not merely breaking the laws but violating them with full intention and cold blood, and perhaps “unintentionally”.
By the way, I am a law abiding citizen. Praise be to God!
If there was a biography about you, what would the title be?
Looking back at my life, I can’t help feeling grateful and content. My education, my family, my move to a foreign country, my acquaintance with different people. At some point in my life I had other dreams. Things I wanted so much, and cried deeply for them, but they were not for me. That’s God’s plan and its always the best.
