Do we have to talk, to speak loud to communicate with others? What about prayers? What about drawings? What about eye contact? They all work well in communication, sometimes even better than speaking loud.
One day a friend told me a funny story. It happened that she was talking with her husband about a woman she didn’t like but have to see quite often. She talked her heart about all the things she didn’t like and why. Her son, about nine or eight years, was coming in and out while she was talking, and she oblivious of anything around, put in more and more. A week later, in a social gathering, she met with that woman and others, but to her surpise and shame, her son came to set next to that woman. After exchanging polite greetings, the son told the woman that her mother always talking about her. My friend’s heart almost stopped beating as she looked at her son. For a few seconds, they were looking at each other, silent. Her look was not threatenting, but begging her son. He smiled and said; ”Always good things.”
So, just a pause of silence saved the mother and taught her a valuable life lesson.
All the best wishes,
Nahla
